Ellie and I went to the zoo last week for a special program called "Breakfast with the Birds". We got to see a cool yellow parrot and a tiny burrowing owl up close. We also got to go into the aviary and throw worms out for the birds to eat. The middle picture is Ellie ducking when she thought a bird was going to fly into her head. The bottom picture is Ellie's reaction when they asked her if she wanted to touch the worms. I guess she takes after me; that was my reaction also.

My Little Angel
Ellie is a huge animal lover. She has always loved all kinds of animals, especially dogs. The other night we made a valiant effort to rescue two dogs that were running down the road. Unfortunately the dogs would not come to us, it was dark, and it was a busy street. We had to abandon our efforts because there was just no way that the dogs were going to come to us. Ellie has been worrying about them ever since. I told her over and over that I was sure that the dogs had already found their way home. She told me that a police officer would probably pick up the dogs and take them home. She kept saying, “I think the police officer plan will work.” She made me say another prayer that night because I had forgotten to pray for the dogs in the first one. I felt terrible that she was worrying so much, but I am also glad that she is such a kind, loving little girl.

The Happiest Girl Ever
Ellie has this amazing ability to be happy all the time! We were at the post office, which is the most boring place in the entire world, and she is still smiling. I was so glad I had my camera in my purse. We spend a lot of time at the post office and she is very proud of her collection of Priority Mail stickers.

Bounce U
Ellie went to Bounce U with some friends from her class during Spring Break. She went down the huge slide at least a million times. It was hard to get a good picture because she was going so fast. She is missing school and is definitely ready to go back next week.

Scott and Kelle's Wedding
Ellie looked so beautiful at Scott and Kelle's wedding. She loved being a flower girl with her cousins
and danced the day away at the reception.
